Cookie policy
Last updated 30 August 2026.
This page explains what cookies this site sets, why, and how to turn off the ones that are optional. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible, so if anything here is unclear, tell us and we will fix the wording.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. It lets the site recognise your browser on the next page or the next visit. Some cookies are the only reason a shopping basket survives a page load; others exist to measure or advertise.
What we set, and why
Strictly necessary — always on
These make the store work. They cannot be turned off, because without them there is no basket and no checkout.
-
Cart and session (
cart,_secure_session_id,_shopify_s,_shopify_y) — keeps what you have added to your basket and keeps you signed in through checkout. Set by Shopify, our ecommerce platform. - Security and fraud screening — Shopify uses these to detect fraudulent orders and abusive traffic. Removing them would mean we could not accept card payments.
- Preferences — remembers your chosen currency and region so prices display correctly on the next page.
Analytics — optional
These tell us which pages people read and where they leave. We use them to decide what to fix; nobody is identified by name.
-
Shopify analytics (
_shopify_sa_t,_shopify_sa_p) — counts sessions and shows which pages led to orders.
Marketing — optional
If and when we run advertising, these cookies would let us measure whether an ad produced a sale, and show our ads to people who have visited a specific drive. If we turn any of these on, this page is updated before they are set.
How to control them
Where a cookie banner is shown on your first visit, you can accept or reject the optional categories there, and reopen those preferences from the banner's own control at any time. Rejecting analytics and marketing does not limit anything you can buy or do here.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings — in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge this sits under Privacy. Blocking all cookies will break the basket, so if you shop here, allow the strictly necessary ones.
Third parties
Our store runs on Shopify, which sets the cookies listed above on our behalf and processes order and payment data as our processor. Payments are handled by Shopify Payments and the card networks; we never see or store your full card number.
How long they last
Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser. The longest-lived cookie we rely on expires one year after your last visit.
Your rights and how to reach us
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Write to us through the contact page and we will respond within 30 days.
How we handle personal data more broadly is set out in our privacy policy.
