What we promise about a drive

Every drive is tested here on Hard Disk Sentinel before it ships. The reading is recorded against that drive's serial number and kept on file permanently.

When your order is dispatched we email you the report for the specific unit in your box — power-on hours, reallocated and pending sectors, health, and the result of a full-capacity surface read — alongside the serial number it belongs to.

Power-on hours are the drive's real hours. We do not reset or alter SMART counters. Testing adds a handful of hours, and the drive you receive will show that handful more than the figure in your report — nothing more.

Our listings are by model, so the listing shows the specification and the grade standard we hold that model to. The measured data is per drive, and it reaches you with the drive.

Every drive is CMR. We do not stock SMR.

You can ask us for the recorded test data for your drive's serial at any time, before or after purchase, and we will send it. That is the whole point of keeping it.
