Every unit is read on the bench before it is listed and graded on what it reports. Ask us for the figures on any drive you are considering.

The bench
Drives are reconditioned and sanitised by our supplier. What happens here is the independent check on top, which is the part that decides what we are willing to warrant.
Health, performance and every sector count, captured with the serial in frame. We wait for Sentinel to finish calibrating first, so nothing we record is an estimate.
Capacity, interface and recording type verified against what the drive actually reports, not against what is printed on it.
Against the published key below. Any pending sector, any uncorrectable error, and the drive is rejected outright, not relisted at a lower grade.
The reading is kept on file. It is the baseline a warranty claim is measured against, and it is yours whenever you ask for it.
Health % is a vendor composite, not a number stored on the drive. We lead with it because it reads at a glance. The raw attributes underneath are the ones you can verify yourself, and we will send them for any serial on request.
Grading
Grades are defined by numbers you can check on the drive when it arrives, not by adjectives. Any drive that fails a single one of these lines is not sold.
| Grade | Reallocated | Pending / uncorrectable | Surface pass | Health |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A Grade | 0 | 0 / 0 | Pass | 95-100% |
| B Grade | 1 - 8 | 0 / 0 | Pass | 85-94% |
| C Grade | 9 - 24 | 0 / 0 | Pass | 75-84% |
| Reject Grade | over 24 | any | Fail | under 75% |

A drive is rejected outright on any pending sector or any uncorrectable sector. A pending sector is one the drive could not read and has not yet reallocated: an active fault, not wear. Rejected drives are not relisted at a lower grade.
Questions
Straight answers. If yours is not here, ask. We would rather talk you out of the wrong drive than sell you one.
No. They are refurbished enterprise drives that have already run in datacentre service. If you need a brand new drive, buy new. You will pay roughly three times as much per terabyte, and for most NAS and archive workloads you will not notice the difference.
You don't have to take our word for it, which is the point. Every drive is read individually before it ships and the figures are kept against its serial. Ask us for the reading on your drive, before or after buying, then run CrystalDiskInfo or Hard Disk Sentinel the moment you plug it in. The numbers should match.
If they don't match, tell us. That would be a serious failure on our part.
Every drive we sell is CMR. We do not stock SMR at all.
SMR drives overlap their tracks to gain density, which makes sustained writes and RAID rebuilds dramatically slower. They are fine for cold archive and poor for almost everything our buyers do, and the industry's habit of shipping them unlabelled is why the question gets asked.
Twelve months, replace or refund, your choice, and we pay shipping both ways. No restocking fee, no requirement to keep the original packaging. Email us the serial and a screenshot of its current SMART data and we will check it against the reading we recorded for that drive before it shipped.
One thing stated plainly: a warranty on a drive covers the hardware, never the data. Every drive fails eventually, new or refurbished. If the contents matter, they need to exist in more than one place.
Yes. Everything we stock is SATA 6Gb/s in the standard 3.5-inch form factor, so it drops into any normal SATA port, NAS bay or drive cage without an adapter or controller card.
Two things to plan for: enterprise drives run warmer and are audibly louder than desktop drives, so give them airflow, and they are heavier because of the helium-sealed build.
No. Drives are sanitised to NIST SP 800-88 Purge by our supplier before they reach us. Purge uses firmware-level commands that reach areas a normal overwrite cannot: reallocated sectors, overprovisioned space, and any hidden host-protected areas.
We do not perform the wipe ourselves and do not issue per-drive sanitisation certificates. If your compliance process needs them, ask us before ordering.
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. If you are an IT trader, integrator or reseller who needs consistent stock with documentation, get in touch with the capacities and quantities you are after. Trade pricing starts at ten units.
Still deciding? Send us the model of your NAS or server and we will tell you what fits.
